What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy treatments are focused on working to restore movement and function when your body is affected by injury, illness or disability. Regular physiotherapy can also help to reduce your risk of injury or illness in the future.
There are many daily influences that can bring about damaging changes in the body without us even realising. For example, in this modern age, office work has become the norm and with it extended periods of sitting down.
Longer periods sitting, especially in the wrong seat, can cause many muscle tightness issues or spinal problems.
Scars, trauma, strains, posture and work conditions have a big influence on our movement patterns, the way our muscles work, the position of our joints, the tension on the nerves, the pressure on the discs and mobility of organs.
Physiotherapy aims to regain balance and free you from pain and strains.
Your physiotherapist will use a range of techniques according to your personal needs.
Your physio can stretch and smooth muscles, strengthen and rejuvenate your back and neck, improve your posture and gait and advise you on biomechanics.
Your physio may also use Kinesio tape to complement your treatment and support a speedy recovery.
