We are proud to announce that Northern Integrative Health Practice now sponsors the Sacriston Community Football Club under 7’s (or Development) squad. There are currently a total of 15 players, 8 in the Victoria squad and 7 in the Community squad. We believe it’s never too early for children to become active and football is a great way to get them out of the house socialising and encouraging them to participate in healthy activity.
We caught up with Steven Reynolds from the club at a presentation night recently, and he told us a bit more about the club and the players currently being coached…
“In our Community squad; Evan Lockwood is our goalkeeper and is currently at Sunderland AFC along with Jake Toase, Daniel Bennet and Nathan Richardson. We also have Shay Hibbets, Ben Cook and Thomas Harvey. We have had this squad together for quite a while and at times we play some great stuff.
In our Victoria squad; Isaac Speight, Johnas Hylton, Dillon Cheek, Ben Herdman, Kurtis Pritchard, Samuel Smith, William O’Brien and Will Prested. Although we have only recently put this team together they are already starting to pass the ball around very well and we are really looking forward to seeing the progress this team makes.
We have a real variety of skills and abilities in this age group, but our aim is to coach all of our players to play football properly. We are massively into coaching and have just appointed a Head Coach at the club who will drive us on further. The commitment of all of these players to training is first class so we are really excited for the future. The aim is to have a really good time over the season and then head to Skegness for an end of season tournament in May.
I have been to Northern Integrative Health Practice in Sacriston with my son after a football injury and cannot speak highly enough of the service provided and friendliness of the staff. We felt totally at ease and relaxed about everything and wouldn’t hesitate to go back. There seems a real array of treatments available and I would have no hesitation in making NIHP Durham my first port of call. Having such a sponsor for our players is a massive step forward in my opinion.
We are genuinely over the moon with the support you have given us.”
The club is always looking for new players in the year two, year one or reception age groups. Football sessions usually take place on a Saturday morning at Fyndoune Community College in Sacriston and you can expect;
