Chiropodist | Podiatrist
- BSc (Hons) Podiatric Medicine
- Diploma in Diabetes Management in Primary Care
Self-employed chiropodist/podiatrist at NIHP Durham
Here at the NIHP I offer both medical and alternative treatment for all problems of the feet and lower limb.
Some problems are inherited and some develop from illness in middle age, or from pressure of ill-fitting shoes. Between 75% and 80% of the adult population have some form of foot problem.
When you are in pain, sore or uncomfortable your whole body posture is out of sync and can lead to other complications, ‘the knock-on effect’ and “when your feet are bad you are bad all over”.
As a foot specialist I treat a wide range of conditions:
- Nail problems, including ingrown toenails
- Foot and heel pain
- Corns and calluses
- Hard and dry skin
- Athletes foot
- Relief of hammer and clawed toes
I have experience in the diabetic and high risk foot problems, including sports.
I offer advice and guidance on footwear through a treatment plan that will enable you to look after your own general foot care. For example, rest and exercise. Sitting with your feet up for 10 minutes after a long day helps circulation. Calf stretches helps to keep feet supple and keep a good range of movement.
If you are faced with a 6-8 months wait for an NHS appointment – why wait? You can be seen immediately at the NIHP and we have the time to care for you and your needs.
